Espanol Selfie
We created a ‘selfie’ using a photo of our heads, drawing our body and then adding a background of choice. On the caption we stated where we were and the fun we were having.

Es fantastic aqui!
Me gusta el dinero.
Me gustaria que estuvieras aqui!”
Garden News
Summer season is booming in the garden!
With the help of many hands, we have been harvesting lots of tomatoes in preparation for our whole school tomato sauce (more on that to come).
Watermelon and pumpkin vines are happy with the heat, growing well and looking delicious - ask your children to describe just how big the watermelons are!

Project Compassion - First Week of Lent
We begin our annual Lenten Project Compassion journey by learning about Laxmi, a 16-year-old girl living in a remote district in Nepal where almost half of the population live below the poverty line. Tragedy struck when Laxmi was ten and her father passed away. Her father worked hard to pay for his children's education and, after losing him, Laxmi was at risk of falling further into extreme poverty.
With the support of Caritas Australia’s partner, Caritas Nepal, Laxmi joined a child's club at her school. She developed the skills and confidence to become a leader, advocating for clean water taps at her school.
Laxmi is now excelling in her studies and working towards her dream of becoming a civil engineer. She continues to be involved in the child's club, mentoring the next generation of young leaders at her old school.

Project Compassion - Ash Wednesday
This week, the season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday, which also marks the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal.
The theme of Project Compassion 2023 is ‘For All Future Generations’ and reminds us that the good we do today extends to impact the lives of generations to come.
By donating to Project Compassion, Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, can work with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.
Each family will receive a Project Compassion box and/or a set of envelopes for their donations or you can donate online via the Caritas Australia website at: www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion
RE News
Hello!
Yesterday we started Lent with Ash Wednesday and a whole school mass. It was so lovely to have a full church with the students, staff, parishioners, parents and relatives all coming together to mark this occasion. It was so pleasing to hear our visiting priest, Fr Anthoni Adimai, speak of how impressed he was with the students behaviour, he was really blown away! So well done to all the students and the teachers for their effort in putting in the time to help teach the kids the importance of good behaviour and respect in the church.
Project Compassion boxes went home yesterday, one for each family. You are not obligated to participate in this fundraising drive, however would love to see as many families involved as possible. I know last year we smashed our $1000 goal, it would be amazing to do that again! Some of your children maybe inspired to do a particular fundraising effort or event on their own to go towards it. Some may like to do extra chores to earn money to put in the box. Some may put in a part of their pocket money if they get some. It’s entirely up to you and we are grateful for whatever amount you are able to put towards it.
Finally, if you have any children interested in making their sacraments, Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion or Confirmation, please reach out to me and let me know. We will be starting classes soon.
God Bless,
Miriam
Bus Safety
With the school year back in full swing, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind families to make sure their child/ren take care when getting off the bus in the afternoons. Please make your child aware for their safety that they need to wait for the bus to leave the bus stop before crossing the road.
