Volunteering

Parent and Community Involvement

As we educate our children, our school depends on a strong relationship between parents, staff and the community.

Parent and Community involvement helps the school and the children love to see their parents, grandparents and caregivers involved in their class and their school.

There are a number of opportunities for parents/caregivers and grandparents to be involved in at St Columba’s Memorial School and we warmly invite you to participate by volunteering to:

  • Listening to reading and other learning opportunities
  • Attending class excursions and/or camps
  • Covering library books
  • Assisting with our intra and inter-school sports activities and competitions
  • Helping the Parents and Friends – Gather and Grow Group
  • Helping in your child’s classroom

To get involved, please speak with your classroom teacher / front office staff or the Principal. They will be excited to talk to you.

*Please note that only parents/caregivers and community members who have successfully completed the Catholic Education SA screening processes, which includes a Working with Children Check and a Certificate of Participation in Responding to Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care are able to assist with school related activities.  These structures are strictly enforced.  Information regarding becoming a Registered Volunteer is available from the school office.
